Recently, Transuniverse partnered with Hungarian logistics company Trans-Sped, which is the market leader in groupage domestically. It has a finely-meshed distribution network in Hungary, so our shipments from Belgium reach their destination faster. “Transit times were reduced by about a day,” says sales manager Dennis Snoeck.
Our customers expect short transit times to all corners of the country. Therefore, we took the initiative to partner with a strong groupage specialist, namely Trans-Sped from Debrecen.
Trans-Sped has been around for 30 years and, like Transuniverse, has family shareholders. The company is among the Top 10 transport and logistics players in Hungary. It operates in road transport of full loads (national and international transport), groupage, distribution, warehousing and e-fulfilment for e-commerce. It counts some twenty sites in Hungary and has 480 trucks, including 230 owned vehicles.
“In the groupage sector, it is the strongest Hungarian player thanks to its cross-dock centre in Nagystarcsa near Budapest and its finely meshed distribution network. His specialities in groupage are Eastern and Northern Europe and part of Western Europe. Belgium was still a blind spot in its group network, so the collaboration with Transuniverse offers great opportunities to grow that activity,” Dennis adds. Over time, this may lead to a balance in import and export flows, which will have a favourable impact on frequencies and cost prices.
Hungary is a very important market for Transuniverse, with almost daily departures. “Thanks to the cooperation, we expect that the frequency can be increased to one departure per day in the relatively short term, despite the slightly declining demand. And thanks to the local network in Hungary, transit times have been shortened by about one day. Depending on the destination, they are now four to five days,” he adds.
Trans-Sped, like Transuniverse, attaches great importance to sustainability – it achieved the Ecovadis Silver medal – and to innovation. For example, its online track & trace system is particularly impressive. Also worth mentioning is that it is TAPA TSR certified.
