What does a Traffic Operator do?

You are responsible for the day-to-day coordination of operational planning and transport activities. You ensure efficient and customer-friendly scheduling with attention to price-quality balance. The organization of transport assignments, deliveries, and pickups is your responsibility. While doing so, you always consider imposed procedures and customer requirements.

As a backup, you will be responsible for receiving and registering incoming orders. You take into account shipment details, customer performance, and costs to maximize gross file profit. You check ongoing files and prepare loading and unloading lists for the warehouse.

Additionally, you ensure smooth handovers in case of absence and create work and leave schedules for the team. You also develop improvement proposals, providing advice and reporting to the management team.

 

Competencies & Skills

  • You have no problem working flexibly and enjoy challenges.
  • Punctuality and setting priorities are among your strong points.
  • Your social and communication skills ensure smooth interactions with customers, drivers, and agents.
  • You can adapt flexibly to changing circumstances.
  • You have experience in calculating load capacities, cubic volumes, and loading meters.
  • You are familiar with shipping units such as Euro pallets, block pallets, and IBCs.
  • Knowledge of CMR regulations, ADR, and INCOTERMS is required.
