Transuniverse has recently introduced several special trailers dedicated to its traffic between Belgium, France and the Maghreb region (Morocco and Tunisia). These trailers are designed for maximum flexibility and can be configured for double-deck pallet transportation as well as hanging garment transport.
Until recently, we relied on the trailers of our agents for the transport of goods between Belgium and France on the one hand, and the Maghreb on the other. “For regular line services, this was less efficient, as these trailers were not specifically equipped to meet the needs of our regular customers. This was especially true for clients requiring hanging garment transport,” explains Theo Timmerman, Sales Manager at Transuniverse. “That is why we ordered specially designed trailers from the German manufacturer Krone, via trailer leasing company TIP in Antwerp.”
These Megatrailers, with an internal height of 3 meters and a closed box body, have been designed to allow double deck loading on the outbound journey thanks to cross beams anchored in the side walls. On the return journey, the beams are replaced with bars to accommodate hanging garment transport.
This configuration allows for a quick and smooth changeover depending on the type of cargo. The flexible solution significantly increases the productivity of our line services, while at the same time offering new logistical possibilities for Tunisian and Moroccan textile exporters.
In addition, the trailers are suitable for roll-on/roll-off transport to North Africa and can also carry ADR goods.
“The market response has been very positive. Several Tunisian and Moroccan textile producers have already become customers, precisely because of this flexible transport solution,” adds Theo Timmerman.
