What does a Customs Officer do?
You support the planning department with customs declarations (NCTS, PLDA and EMCS) and regulations. You make these available in Navision, to ensure the drivers aren’t delayed.
You take care of the entire pre- and post-processing of all customs declarations. This could be bills of discharge, permits and the necessary evidence to support the declaration. You also keep customers informed about the regulations.
You apply the customs tariffs on goods correctly using the nomenclature and pass instructions on to our office in Romania.
You ensure the smooth flow of goods with the customs formalities in transport and avoid customs-related fines.
Within this role, you will be responsible for reporting on your own activities.
What are your talents and skills?
- You have knowledge of customs documents, customs tariffs and customs legislation.
- You already have some experience with the ERP package Navision, the MS-Office suite and you have knowledge of transport documents.
- You enjoy continuous learning, through both internal and external training courses.
- Since you are in a lot of contact with our customers every day, you must feel confident to talk on the phone and to communicate by email in Dutch, French and English.
